An Epic Mermaid Birthday Party
Share
My little girl is part fish and loves to swim. For her 3rd birthday, she wanted to have a mermaid party and wanted to have it at the pool.
The Venue
We looked at local indoor pool options to rent for the party. We had her 1st birthday at the indoor pool at The Rec in Grapevine, which was awesome, but it was going to be under maintenance during her birthday this go round. So we found the NRH Centre to be a good nearby alternative.
The Wow Factor
I recently had randomly seen performers that were dressed like really legit looking mermaids that would do shows at aquariums and couldn’t help but wonder if those performers do kids parties. Turns out they do! I found a group called the MerFriends and was able to hire a mermaid named Jordan and pirate named Christo for the party.
I will say at first, my little girl was a little terrified and didn’t know what to think. But after awhile, she got really excited and warmed up to the idea that a real life mermaid was swimming in the pool with her.
The Cake and Decor
It wouldn’t be a mermaid party without the perfect mermaid cake and decor! We had teal, purple, hot pink and lime green decorations and I added fun netting to get just the right sea side vibes.
